MIM Pawnshop Skills and Services offers BSP Licensed Pawnshop Auction Services

Presidential Decree No. 114, also known as the “Pawnshop Regulation Act,” sets forth a series of regulations for a pawnshop auction. These regulations are in Secion 15, which is titled “Public auction of pawned articles.” Among the regulations is one that requires all pawnshop auction to be “…under the control and direction of an auctioneer with license duly issued by the corresponding authorities…” In this case the corresponding authority is The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). In other words an auction must be “under the control and direction” of an auctioneer licensed by the BSP. Or even more simply, a set of books from a pawnshop must be signed off by an auctioneer licensed by the BSP.

There are not many licensed pawnshop auctioneers in the Philippines at this time. Fortunately, for my clients, I am licensed by the BSP to sign auction books. I do this at the most competitive price in the Philippines. My price is P150 per pawnshop branch and I can sign auction books in any province. If you are having trouble with pawnshop auction compliance at a reasonable price –  contact me for help.

MIM Pawnshop Skills and Services consulting can make a difference in your pawnshop operations

Through my many years in the pawnshop industry I have been employed at every level of the industry. I have managed inventory, performed appraisals and approved transactions large and small. I am familiar with pawnshop regulation compliance, pawnshop security, pawnshop auctions (I am a certified as a pawnshop auctioneer by the BSP) and pawnshop accounting techniques. It is through this lifelong learning in the pawnshop industry that I am able to offer my services as a pawnshop consultant to those just beginning in the industry or to already established pawnshops. I do this as another aspect of MIM Pawnshop Skills and Services.

To gain a better picture of just what kind of consulting MIM Pawnshop Skills and Services has to offer it is probably best to describe what a consult does. A consultant is usually a person brought in from outside the organization to help solve a problem. A consultant offers insight, advice and experienced based strategies that can help an organization more effectively reach its goals by solving problems.  The goal of my consulting is to solve problems and bring more money to the bottom line of a business.

As a consultant I can provide advice about an aspect of the business to make the organization more effective. For instance, as a consultant to an established pawnshop I can analyze their current strategies and make suggestions for improvements. These suggestions might be to provide more staff training, better accounting methods or more security precautions.

Consulting by MIM Pawnshop Skills and Services can help by offering a set of skills or services that compliment the already established procedures within an established organization.  Or, if opening  a new pawnshop is your goal MIM Pawnshop Skills and Services can help by offering strategies to get you started.

My First Chance to Promote MIM Pawnshop Skills and Services on the Radio

Decenber 2009 was an exciting month!

On December 14, I was invited to be a guest on the radio program of  The Pamilyang OFW-SME Network Foundation, Inc. (POFW-SMENFI), which airs on the DWBL 1242 AM radio  (owned by the FSB Radio Network). I was interviewed by Ricky Mendoza and Maricris (I’m sorry that in the excitement I forgot Maricris surname). They introduced me very warmly as the owner of “MIM Pawnshop Skills and Services who is going to give you an idea about a pawnshop business.”

Ricky and Maricris were gracious enough to allow me to talk about all of MIM”s courses for pawnshop operations in gold appraisal, diamond appraisal, pawnshop management, electro gold plating on jewelry and the services of a licensed pawnshop auctioneer. Ricky asked many questions about gold and diamond appraisal and how it is done and I gave him a very brief procedure on how to test gold and diamonds for authenticity.

This was my first appearance on radio and I was pretty nervous. The discussion took 25 minutes but seemed to fly by in 25 seconds. The interaction was great and I enjoyed it a lot. I felt they enjoyed it too. After the program we talked for another 30 minutes about the Pamilyang OFW-SME Network Foundation, Inc. event on the 26th, 27th and 28th of December (which I just participated in and will update about soon).  Ricky Mendoza and I teased about how we are related (we really are not) and Ricky then extended an offer for me to return to the program.

I would like to thank the Pamilyang OFW-SME Network Foundation, Inc. for helping me get on the program and DWBL 1242, Ricky Mendoza and Maricris for making me feel so comfortable.
